If your company work email is provided by Microsoft (i.e. your organization uses Microsoft 365 or Outlook), you can connect your account to Metaview to send outreach sequences directly from your own inbox — so candidates receive messages from a familiar address, and replies land right in your email client.

Connecting Your Email

Check your Sequences Settings for your current email connection status. Click Connect Email and follow the authentication steps via the Microsoft pop-up.
The email you connect must match your Metaview account email. Metaview does not support connecting a personal outlook.com or hotmail.com account unrelated to your organization’s Microsoft 365 tenant.

Permissions

To use Outlook for outreach, Metaview requests the following OAuth scopes:
  • Mail.ReadWrite — to manage sent email state
  • Mail.Send — to send outreach emails from your account
  • MailboxSettings.Read — to respect your mailbox settings (e.g. out-of-office)
If access is blocked, you may need to request App Approval from the IT team that manages your Microsoft 365 tenant.

Sending on Behalf of Others

Team members can be granted permission to send outreach sequences using your email address. This is useful for scenarios where a recruiter manages sequences on behalf of a hiring manager or colleague. How it works:
  • You must explicitly grant a colleague (or your entire organization) permission to send from your email. They cannot do this without your approval.
  • You can grant permission to a specific person or to everyone in your organization.
  • You can revoke permission at any time from your account settings.
Permissions are scoped to your organization — only active members of your org can be granted send-on-behalf access.
Every time a sequence email is about to be sent, Metaview verifies that the relevant permission is still active. If you’ve revoked access, any in-progress sequences using your email address will be automatically paused and the sequence owner will be notified.

Disconnecting Your Email

To disconnect your email, go to your Sequences Settings and click Remove. This will:
  • Clear your stored authentication tokens immediately
  • Archive all send-on-behalf permissions you’ve granted to others
  • Pause any active sequences that were using your email address
Disconnecting your email does not delete your sequences or candidate data — it only stops emails from being sent until you reconnect.

Troubleshooting

If you have trouble connecting your email to Metaview, try the following:
  • Ensure the email you’re connecting is the same one you use to log in to Metaview.
  • Check with your IT team if you need admin approval to authorize Metaview in your Microsoft 365 tenant.
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting your email from Sequences Settings.
  • If sequences are pausing unexpectedly, check whether your send-on-behalf permissions are still active, or whether the email you’re sending from has been disconnected.
