Role briefs and hiring criteria often live in Box. Bringing those documents into a Sourcing search helps you describe the role without copying everything into your prompt. Connect your Box account so the Sourcing agent can find and read documents when you ask it to. The integration uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to give the agent read-only access through your Box account.

Requirements

  • A Box account with access to the files you want to use.
  • A Metaview account with access to Sourcing.

Connect Box

1

Open Box settings

In Metaview, open Settings > Integrations and select Manage Box, or open Box settings directly.
2

Sign in to Box

Select Connect Box. Sign in to the Box account containing your documents and authorise Metaview’s access.
Box settings with the Connect Box button

Select Connect Box to sign in with your Box account.

3

Check the connection

You will return to Metaview. Box settings show Box connected. and a Connected status when setup is complete.

Use Box in Sourcing

Open Sourcing and use the Connectors menu beside the message composer to select Box for your search. Then tell the agent which document to use and what you want to do with it. A document title and folder name help it find the right file. For example:
The agent can search for files and folders, list folder contents, and read file details and content. Access depends on the Box account used for the connection and its file permissions.

Access and workspace sharing

Your Box connection is personal by default. Each person can connect their own Box account. If you are a Metaview workspace admin, you can share your own connection. Open Settings > Integrations > Manage Box and turn on Share with workspace. Workspace members can then select that connection from the Connectors menu.
A shared connection uses the connected Box account’s permissions. Workspace members can use it to read files that account can access, even if they do not have their own access in Box. Share only a connection whose files are appropriate for your workspace.
Turn off Share with workspace to make the connection personal again. The connection owner manages reconnection and disconnection.

Troubleshooting

Disconnect Box

Open Settings > Integrations > Manage Box and select Disconnect on your connection. This stops further Box requests through that connection, including for workspace members using it as a shared connection. Information already returned in a search remains in that conversation.
