Slack
This guide shows you how to use Zapier to send automated messages in Slack when Metaview meeting summaries are completed. This setup is ideal for keeping teams updated on meetings directly in Slack.
Step 1: Set Up the Trigger in Zapier
Create a New Zap and add a Trigger.
Select Metaview as the app.
Choose New Conversation as the trigger event.
Configure the Trigger Settings:
Meetings Type: Choose either:
My Meetings for personal use.
Team Meetings if you want this Zap accessible to everyone in your organization. Set Private to
false
for Team Meetings, andtrue
for My Meetings.
Label: Add a recognizable label like Push to Slack.
Trigger Automatically: Set to
false
to allow edits before pushing to Slack.
Step 2: Add a Slack Action to Send a Message
Add an Action in Zapier and select Slack as the app.
Choose Send Channel Message as the action event.
Connect your Slack Account and grant Zapier access.
Configure the Message Settings:
Channel: Choose the Slack channel where the message will be sent.
Message Text: Customize the message content by adding Metaview fields such as Meeting Name and Summary Notes.
Additional options:
Send the message as a bot if desired.
Optionally, include a Zapier link for quick access to the Zap.
Test and Publish
Run tests to ensure the Zap functions as expected.
Once confirmed, click Publish to activate.
Now, every time a Metaview conversation is completed, a customized message will automatically post to your chosen Slack channel, keeping your team up-to-date!
