# Personal Settings

> Manage your personal settings for notifications, calls, and recordings

Personal Settings apply only to your Metaview account. To access them, click your profile in the bottom-left corner of the navigation menu and select [**Settings**](https://my.metaview.app/settings). From there, open the **Personal Settings** tab to manage your notifications, automatic scheduling, recording, phone, and appearance preferences.

## Phone calls

* **Phone numbers:** Register phone numbers to use with your Metaview account. You can also remove previously registered phone numbers. For details, see [Phone setup and use](/joining-your-calls/phone-calls/phone-setup-and-use).
* **Capture callbacks:** When `enabled`, recipients can call you back and the phone call will be captured in Metaview. To support this, Metaview replaces your number with a Metaview-owned number when dialling the candidate. For more details, see [Capture Callbacks](/joining-your-calls/phone-calls/capture-callbacks).

## Automatic scheduling

Metaview can automatically schedule itself to join your recruiting calls. The following settings control this behaviour:

* **Capture calls:** This is the main setting for automatic scheduling.
  * When `enabled`, Metaview can be automatically added to upcoming recruiting calls from all connected sources, including your calendar and additional integrations such as your ATS.
  * When `disabled`, Metaview will stop being automatically scheduled for future calls from all connected sources, regardless of whether the call comes from your calendar, ATS, or another connected integration.
  * Administrators can also manage **Capture calls** for individual members from the [Team Management](/account-management/managing-your-team) page.

* **Join events in calendars:** Controls whether Metaview automatically joins recruiting calls found in your connected calendar.
  * When `enabled`, Metaview will automatically join eligible recruiting calls in your calendar.
  * When `disabled`, Metaview will not be automatically scheduled from your calendar. However, it may still be scheduled from other connected sources, such as your ATS, if **Capture calls** remains enabled.
  * Administrators can disable calendar-based scheduling for the entire workspace in [Workspace Settings](/account-management/workspace-settings). When disabled at the workspace level, this overrides your personal setting and you will not be able to enable calendar scheduling.

<Warning>
  To stop all future automatic scheduling from every connected source, disable **Capture calls**. You can also [manually disable](/joining-your-calls/inviting-the-notetaker/disabling-metaview) individual calls.

## Notifications

The following notification settings can be set to `Enabled` or `Disabled`:

* **Receive email notifications:** Receive an email notification whenever a Metaview call has been transcribed and the summary is ready.

<Note>
  Metaview will not send summary notifications for very short phone calls. These calls may also not be processed automatically if they do not contain enough content to generate useful summary notes.

* **Receive Sourcing notifications in Slack:** Receive Slack notifications when a [Sourcing](/recruiting-platform/ai-sourcing) search needs your input or has meaningful results to share. More information the [Slack integration here](/integrations/communication/slack).

## Call recording

* **Record video:** When `enabled`, Metaview records video in your calls so you can replay it later, create [Snippets](/using-ai-notes/features/snippets), and capture important visual context during technical interviews or when a participant shares their screen, such as presentations, demos, whiteboarding, or coding screens.
  * Video recording is optional, is not used to perform biometric analysis, and can be `Disabled` at any time.
  * If video recording has been disabled by your administrator in [Workspace Settings](/account-management/workspace-settings), you will not be able to enable it in Personal Settings and the option will appear greyed out.
  * If any participant has video recording disabled for a call, video will not be recorded for anyone on that call.

<Note>
  Audio recording cannot be disabled, as it is required to generate transcriptions for video-conference and phone calls. See [Privacy configurations](/account-management/privacy-and-security/privacy-configurations) for more information about data-minimisation options.

## Appearance

* **Color theme:** Customize the appearance of Metaview by choosing `light`, `dark`, or `system`. The `system` option automatically matches your device or browser appearance settings.

## Update your name

You cannot currently update your name from Personal Settings, however you or a workspace administrator can update it from the [Team Management](/account-management/managing-your-team) page: Find the account, click the `...` menu, and select `Rename user`.
